Free Cat Friday is back

Avery Redfern, Reporter

Those interested in adopting a cat should head down to the Fayetteville Animal Shelter this Friday, Nov. 8, for Free Cat Friday. The event was initiated by the Fayetteville Animal Shelter in order to clear out some cages from the shelter. As stated in the name, all animals up for adoption are without adoption fees and are already spayed or neutered, microchipped, and vaccinated.

Fayetteville animal services superintendent Justine Lentz says that fall can be a slow time for adoptions and that space at the shelter is limited, which is why they began the program.

There are over 30 cats that are up for adoption. People seeking to adopt are encouraged to fill out applications before Friday. Applications can be found here or can be picked up at the shelter. All of the cats will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. The shelter will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

We highly encourage anyone looking for a fluffy friend to stop by the animal shelter to help these cats find their forever homes!
