Spider-Man: No Way Home Trailer just released and fans are ecstatic.
August 27, 2021
The new Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer came out on August 23 and fans are going crazy over it. Marvel fans have been waiting a long time for this trailer and now it is finally here! The trailer reportedly leaked online before it was released, which sent millions of fans on a frenzy looking for tiny clues and details about the movie. The third installment, starring Tom Holland as Peter Parker and Benedict Cumberbatch as Doctor Strange, hits theaters on Dec. 17th.
The movie picks up right after Spider-Man: Far From Home, where Mysterio reveals to the world that Parker is Spider-Man. This caused many people to believe that Parker killed Mysterio. In the trailer, you can see a protest sign calling Parker a “devil in disguise.”
Parker then goes to Doctor Strange for help, asking him if it’s possible if he can reverse time so that Mysterio doesn’t tell the world that he is actually Spiderman. Then, Parker accidentally tampers with the spell, causing Strange to crack the multiverse by accident. With the multiverse opening, different villains from the Raimi Spider-Man universe and The Amazing Spider-Man universe enter the main MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe). “The multiverse is a concept about which we know frighteningly little about.”
With Phase 4 of the MCU centering around the multiverse, the movie will introduce characters from the Marvel comics into the main MCU universe. The Loki series is reportedly the most important show in Phase 4, story-wise because it introduced us to the concept of the multiverse.
At the end of the trailer, we see Alfred Molina, who played Doc Ock in the 2004 film, Spider-Man 2. It also appears that Jamie Foxx, playing Electro, and Willem Dafoe, playing the Green Goblin, are set to return as well. In addition, fans are hoping that Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield reprise their roles as Peter Parker from their own Spider-Man movies. Even though Andrew Garfield has denied being in the film, fans are skeptical seeing that Marvel has a history of forcing their actors to lie about their roles. Fans are also hoping for Charlie Cox to reprise his role as Matt Murdock from the 2015 Netflix original, Daredevil.
Spider-Man: No Way Home is like a love letter, specifically to Spider-Man fans. To see a combination of all three Spider-Man series in one film will be awesome to see.
