Dallas Cowboys’ quarterback, Dak Prescott, ready to defeat the New York Giants while playing an at-home game, but then the unthinkable happens. The Cowboys were leading 24-20 in the third quarter, and the game was going well for Prescott. A few plays in the third quarter, when Prescott was going to slide for the first down, his right ankle got caught in the turf. Prescott was then carted off to an ambulance and transported to the local hospital for urgent surgery. His injury is putting him at a 4-6 month recovery, due to a compound ankle fracture and dislocation, which at the moment expects him to return in April or early May of 2021, according to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

Post surgery, the quarterback reaches on his Instagram account, updating everyone on his surgery and thanking everyone for all the love and support. “I’ll be back stronger and better,” Prescott says. On a popular news report, ESPN, says teammates showed continuous love through text messages and gift baskets, while also posting on social media. Prescott’s family also showed love on social media, posting pictures of Dak just out of surgery. Even fans from other pro teams are posting for the Cowboys and letting them know they’re here for them, from the loss of their quarterback.

Entering the 2020 season, Prescott wanted a $38 million contract to play for the next 10 years, but the Cowboys could not come to an agreement. With their quarterback out for the year, the question echoed if Prescott will even come back. Jerry Jones says himself confidently that Prescott will come back fully healthy, but will also return in a Cowboys uniform. With Prescott being out for the season, he leaves the field having pace on the league’s single passing record, with 1,400 passing yards. With the long time to rest for Prescott, the quarterback says he will continue to work toward his 2021 season.
